This year’s Aftershock was held in the heart of Sacramento, California’s state capital. Over 30,000 attendees showed up for the two day sold out festival.
Aftershock was set up at Discovery Park, a well-known park along the Sacramento River, where people bring their boats and children to hang out and relax in a peaceful environment. This music festival brought a whole new crowd, scaring away those looking for peace and quiet. Both days were jam packed with music loud enough to be heard from miles away. Over 35 different bands filled the line-up, bringing in a variety of rock and metal sub-genres.
There were 3 stages spread out throughout the park. The 2 Monster stages were right next to each other, where as the Ernie Ball stage was hidden past the large patches of grass and trees. Lines for food, merch, and beer were long and there were lots of people running around from stage to stage. The California heat didn’t stop fans, both old and young, from rocking their asses off in the hot beaming sun.
